Hourly Rate: $15.000 per hour. up to $16.90 per hour, depending upon qualifications

Job Description: Hunter Recruitment and Retention Assistant - This LTE position assists Law Enforcement's hunter recruitment and retention program and performs public safety related educational, database development management, and support service activities.
40% - In general assists in promoting, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the hunter recruitment, mentoring, and retention program. Work with internal and external partners to establish, evaluate, and adapt activities developed to recruit and train new hunters.
30% - Develop, promote, and implement systems to recruit and mentor Adult Onset Hunters including tracking, evaluation, and adaptation.
15% - Database management and tracking of participants to evaluate effectiveness.
15% - Management of the Hunter Development, Training and Recruitment grant program in cooperation with the Bureau of Community Financial Assistance

Knowledge Required: Grant program coordination. Knowledge of database development and maintenance, knowledge of the role of hunting in conservation of natural resources, knowledge of adult onset hunting initiation, communication experience (verbal and written), strong organizational skills and experience, experience with Microsoft Office products. Skills and knowledge gained from previous experience negotiating WDNR bureaucracy and processes and procedures are a plus. Experience with state bidding and contracting procedures. Demonstrated ability to work independently without close supervision.
