Job Description: 70% - Provide leadership, coordinate, administer and evaluate the Green & Healthy Schools Wisconsin program (GHS), a partnership program with the Department of Natural Resources, Department of Public Instruction and Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education. Maintain, coordinate and conduct meetings with statewide agencies, pK-12 schools and various stakeholder networks - the GHS advisory network, provider network, mentor network, business network and core program administration team. Provide assistance to GHS Wisconsin schools (answer questions, lend support, serve as main contact, etc.) Schedule and facilitate statewide trainings for GHS Wisconsin. Represent GHS Wisconsin at workshops, conferences, meetings, etc., including giving presentations, serving on panels and staffing exhibit booths.

20% - Aid in the creation of media materials for the program (press releases, brochures, posters, etc.); Aid in the maintenance of the GHS Wisconsin website; Maintain a GHS Wisconsin records database and generate reports. Coordinate administration team, take meeting minutes, develop agendas, keep team on task, meeting and presentation logistics, etc.

10% - Design, promote, deliver, and evaluate recycling education workshops for preK-12 teachers, youth leaders and informal educators to introduce waste reduction and recycling education and activities into classrooms, community programs, etc.

This position is assigned to the Bureau of Waste and Materials Management in the Business Support and Information Technology Section.

Knowledge Required: A well-qualified applicant will have:

An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in project management; communications; sustainability; the green and healthy schools movement; social marketing techniques; environmental education issues; and waste reduction, reuse and recycling issues;
Excellent verbal and written communication (presentation and public speaking skills a must);
Be a positive representative, display an upbeat attitude and high degree of professionalism and provide leadership for the program;
Experience working with diverse groups;
Ability to work with a team of statewide stakeholders but also independently;
Strong detail-orientation and self-motivation skills and an ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and partners;
Strong computer skills (database management, PowerPoint/Prezi, Word, Excel, Access, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator).

Preference will be given to those with experience working with schools (teachers, administrators, staff, students).
