Job Description:

LTE - Fisheries Technician

These positions will assist with spawning, hatching, and rearing operations. In addition, they will help with pond harvest and distribution for muskellunge, walleye, and white sucker. Other duties will include maintaining the hatchery facilities, grounds, and equipment. These positions will work a modified schedule which includes nights, weekends, holidays, etc. The work will largely take place outside in potential inclement weather conditions.

60% Assist with spawning operations for walleye, muskellunge and white sucker including field spawning, hatchery egg incubation and hatching.

20% Assist with pond harvest and distribution of walleye and muskellunge.

20% Maintain hatchery buildings and grounds as needed.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Able and willing to work modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc. and in inclement weather conditions.
- Able to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with fyke nets, seines, boats and lawn equipment.
