Job Description:

LTE - Parks and Recreation Specialist

Do you have a great attitude and enjoy working outdoors? Do you appreciate clean facilities and delivering great customer service? Are you a team player who works hard? If so, apply to join our team! Kohler-Andrae State Park is visited by almost 1/2 million visitors annually. We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, positive minded individuals. Expected first day will be April 6th, 2020. Work will begin, with minimal hours, in April and May. The work schedule will pick up to 40 hours/week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. After Labor Day, part-time hours are available until mid to late October.

75% - Perform the maintenance of grounds and facilities to ensure they conform to established standards. Mow grass, pick up litter, clean public use areas and beaches, painting, maintaining restrooms and campsites, remove trees and brush, repair and maintain trail surfaces, operate vehicles and light equipment and perform repairs and maintenance to equipment and buildings.

10% - Explain State Park rules, regulations and fees to visitors and help with special events. Manage the Park and its facilities to protect public health and safety.

5% - Assist in the collection of fees and dissemination of information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use electronic cash registers, electronic credit card verification equipment and computerized reservation and reporting systems. Register campers; sell admission stickers to public. Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability

5% - Manage the administration of admission sticker sales and other fee charges to efficiently maximize revenues. Assign, audit and process sticker accounts to ensure control of such accounts as well as prompt remittances.

5% - Assist the Park Manager and/or Property Superintendent with monitoring the work and performance of other team members or volunteers and any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with co-workers and public
- At least 18 years of age with 2 years driving experience
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual
- Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer service and cash handling experience
- Knowledge, skills and experience of general maintenance operations
- Janitorial and/or custodial knowledge, skills and experience
