Job Description:

LTE - Visitor Services Associate

The Northern Highland American Legion State Forest is currently hiring it's summer staff! The state forest offers a large variety of outdoor recreation experiences and is fun place to work. Visitor Services Associates work at our Clear Lake Visitor Station (in Woodruff) or Crystal Lake Visitor Station (Boulder Junction). Positions are available for 24 - 40 hours per week, with weekend work required. Positions are available from May 10th - Labor Day, with some option for fall work through early October. Economical, dormitory style housing is available on the property.

55% - Greet visitors, collect and account for fees and disseminate information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use electronic cash registers, electronic credit card verification equipment and computerized reservation and reporting systems.

25% - Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability.

10% - Distribute brochures, maps and provide directions/routes of travel throughout the park; inform visitors of potential safety hazards.
10% - Issue admission receipts in accordance with established guidelines.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Customer service and cash handling experience
- Knowledge and experience working with computers
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and public
- Ability to work a modified schedule; including nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast past environment
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual
- High level attention to detail
