Hydrogeologist - PECFA
This position will assist the WDNR RR program with regulatory oversight of PECFA-eligible environmental contamination cases and administrative tasks related to the management of PECFA. The responsibilities of this position include case status assessment, case review and preparation of work directives.
50% Manage, evaluate, and provide technical assistance for petroleum contamination cases eligible for PECFA reimbursement.
* Maintain assigned PECFA case files and prepare recommendations for consultants, responsible parties and/or other RR Hydrogeologists.
* Review sites where a request for closure has been received and determine if it meets WDNR guidelines and standard geologic principles.
* Evaluate existing and/or proposed groundwater monitoring systems, including well placement, installation/ construction (NR141), sampling techniques/ schedules/parameters, QA/QC, etc.
50% Review data submitted through routine reporting requirements and make decisions/recommendations for future work based on standard hydrogeologic principles, WDNR guidelines, State and Federal maximum contaminant levels, and health advisory levels in groundwater and air. Assist in reviewing stalled cases and work to facilitate progress.

Qualifications:
- Oral and written presentation skills and interpersonal skills are necessary to complete the assigned tasks.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and prioritize multiple work tasks. - Proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Valid driver's license.
Note: This half time (20 hours/week) position may be hired in conjunction with the Hydrogeologist DOT position - Job ID 13284 to work full time (40 hours/week).
