Job Description:

The Northern Highland American Legion State Forest has a unique working experience for those who enjoy camping and interacting with people. The state forest is hiring campground managers to live and work in 3 of our outlying campgrounds (Big Lake, Starrett Lake and Upper Gresham Lake). These positions are our front-line staff who interact with campers in these campgrounds. Campground managers are required to live in these campgrounds and perform customer service as well as landscaping and maintenance duties.

NOTE: Due to the fiduciary responsibilities of this position, a background check will be conducted.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and public
- Knowledge, skills and experience of general maintenance operations
- Ability to project a positive attitude, work independently, be self-motivated and punctual
- Customer service and cash handling experience
- Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous landscaping, grounds maintenance experience
- Knowledge and experience working with computers
- Applicants may be required to use personal vehicle for traveling between campground and visitor station. Miles will be reimbursed.
