Job Description: Laborer - LTE

We are hiring limited-term staff for Laborer (Grounds Crew/Cleaning) positions to work at Council Grounds State Park. Duties include, but are not limited to grounds keeping, cleaning/sanitizing restrooms, picking up litter and minor facility/equipment maintenance. Staff often operate machinery such as UTVs, chainsaws, hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors, boats and other motorized vehicles. Weekend and holiday work is required.

60% Clean and maintain use areas including campgrounds, restrooms, shower facilities, beaches, picnic areas, shelter, boat landings. Includes daily building cleaning, mowing, trimming, litter pickup, cleaning picnic grills and fire rings.

25% Perform general grounds and trail maintenance including mowing, brushing, trimming. Clearing hazard trees. Install signs, repair picnic tables.

15% Perform general maintenance and minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. Wear required uniform and be a positive representative of the Department.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Skills and knowledge of general and preventive maintenance duties including janitorial, grounds work and painting.
- Training or experience in vehicle operations including 4-wheel drive trucks, tractors, dump trucks, and trailers.
- A valid Wisconsin driver's license, a minimum of two years driving experience, and minimum 18 years of age required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work outside in difficult weather conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and public
