Hourly Rate: $13.000 per hour. This position will be expected to work approximately 24 hours/week.

Job Description: Facilities Repair Worker - LTE

This position will be performing a variety of maintenance related tasks as it relates to the state park. Basic building maintenance repairs and improvements on both the interior and exterior of our facilities. Knowledge and skills in general and preventative maintenance duties including janitorial, grounds work, and painting. Previous park and grounds maintenance and custodial experience is a plus. Experience using hand and power tools including chain saws. Exhibit effective written and oral communication skills. Training or experience in vehicle operations including 4-wheel drive trucks, tractors, UTVs and trailers. Heavy lifting is required. Applicant must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public, work independently, and be self-motivated and punctual.

40% Perform facility improvement projects. Perform minor plumbing and electrical duties. Operate and maintain equipment. Maintain and repair building exteriors through painting and new construction. Assist with training and directing less experienced facilities and grounds staff.

25% Mow grass, pick up litter, clean public use areas and beach. Haul garbage. Paint buildings, grills and picnic tables. Maintain restrooms, campfire rings and picnic grills. Remove trees and brush. Fill and grade park drives, patch blacktop, repair bridges and boardwalks and maintain culverts and shoulders.

25% Perform maintenance on state owned equipment and ensure safe operation of necessary equipment.

10% Monitor and purchase building materials and equipment.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Able to work alone and in a team environment
- Customer service oriented
- Employees will be expected to use chainsaws and brush cutting equipment after receiving safety training
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be eligible to drive state owned vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications:
- May occasionally require weekend shifts
- Familiar with required maintenance on small engines including deck mowers, chainsaws and weed whips
- Effective communication skills promoting a positive work environment
