Hourly Rate: $10.000 per hour.

Job Description: Laborer - LTE

This position is responsible for providing maintenance support throughout the property. This involves working outdoors and includes the inspection, cleaning and grounds-keeping of buildings, facilities, day use, and picnic areas. Laborers often operate machinery such as UTV's, chainsaws, hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors and other motorized vehicles. Laborers are expected to work early mornings and most, if not all, summer weekends.

50% Mow grass and pick up litter and trash. Clean beach areas, restrooms, and picnic grills. Remove trees and brush as assigned

30% Perform general maintenance duties. Develop and maintain trail surfaces and mow picnic areas. Install signs. Paint grills, picnic tables, and other park fixtures.

10% Perform light carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or other duties as assigned.

5% Interact with the public and park visitors. Provide general information on the property and recreation activities. Answer questions, and provide general customer service particularly related to facilities and grounds.

5% Operate vehicles and other light equipment.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge, skills and experience of general maintenance operations
- Building/facility repair or maintenance experience
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual
- Ability to work a modified schedule; early mornings, weekends, holidays, etc
- Must be able to operate motor vehicles and light equipment and meet eligibility requirements to operate a state-owned vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in landscaping or other maintenance work in an outdoor setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public.
