Job Description: Visitor Services Associate - LTE

Direct and perform the maintenance of grounds and facilities. Direct other team members and assist in the collection of fees and dissemination of information. Explain State Park rules, regulations and fees to visitors and help with special events. Manage the Park and its facilities to protect public health and safety. Assist the Park Manager with monitoring the work and performance of other team members or volunteers and any other duties as assigned. ***NOTE***This position is on an Island off of Washington Island, which is accessible only by ferry service.

40% Direct and perform the maintenance of grounds and facilities to ensure they conform to established standards to include mow grass, pick up litter, clean public use areas and beaches, painting, maintaining restrooms and campsites, remove trees and brush, repair and maintain trail surfaces, operate vehicles and light equipment and perform repairs and maintenance to equipment and buildings.

40% Direct other team members and assist in the collection of fees and dissemination of information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use computerized reservation and reporting systems. Register campers. Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability

15% Explain State Park rules, regulations and fees to visitors and help with special events. Manage the Park and its facilities to protect public health and safety.

5% Assist the Park Manager monitoring the work and performance of other team members or volunteers and any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and public
- Customer service and cash handling experience
- Knowledge, skills and experience of general maintenance operations
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual
- Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Boat operation/handling skills.
