Job Description: Parks and Recreation Specialist - LTE

These positions are involved in the managing of boat access sites and public recreation use areas on fishery lands in the counties of Waupaca, Waushara, Marquette, and parts of Portage County.

30% Direct and perform the maintenance of grounds and facilities to ensure they conform to established standards to include mow grass, pick up litter, clean public use areas and beaches, painting, maintaining restrooms and campsites, remove trees and brush, repair and maintain trail surfaces, operate vehicles and light equipment and perform repairs and maintenance to equipment and buildings.

30% Direct other team members and assist in the collection of fees and dissemination of information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use electronic cash registers, electronic credit card verification equipment and computerized reservation and reporting systems. Register campers; sell admission stickers to public. Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific recreation area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability.

20% Explain recreation rules, regulations and fees to visitors and help with special events. Manage the recreation areas and facilities to protect public health and safety.

15% Manage the administration of admission sticker sales and other fee charges to efficiently maximize revenues. Assign, audit and process sticker accounts to ensure control of such accounts as well as prompt remittances.

5% Assist the Property Manager and/or Property Supervisor with monitoring the work and performance of other team members or volunteers and any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Must have valid WI Driver's License.
- The employee must successfully pass chainsaw safety operation training to maintain employment.
- Due to fiduciary responsibilities within this position, a background check will be conducted.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with maintenance equipment and supplies; tractor, skid-steer, mower, chainsaw and other heavy equipment.
- Experience with hand tools
