Hourly Rate: $12.000 per hour.

Duration: Job starts approximately April 1, 2018

Job Description: Parks and Recreation Specialist - LTE

Register campers, sell admission stickers, provide answers to visitors' questions concerning specific park areas and the area's recreational opportunities. Distribute brochures, maps, provide directions and educate visitors about rules. Perform general maintenance duties. Clean restrooms, buildings, and campfire rings. Mow grass and pick up litter. Remove brush and trees. Develop and maintain trail surfaces. Install signs, paint picnic tables. Operate vehicles and light equipment.

65% Maintain Recreation Facilities- Conduct daily cleaning of restroom facilities. Clean out fire-rings, conduct routine maintenance, painting/staining, sign installation and maintenance, etc. Maintain Day Use Areas and Trails- Mow and trim picnic areas and trails. Perform general trail repairs, pick up litter, repair picnic tables, hazard tree and invasive removal, etc.

10% Distribute brochures, maps, provide directions and educate visitors about rules. Contact Emergency Services or Law Enforcement if situations arise.

20% Collect fees and disseminate information. Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, and campground availability. Manage daily sticker account and remit all revenues in a timely manner.

5% Assist park supervisors and managers or other park employees in any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and public.
- Customer service experience
- Ability and willingness to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with chainsaws, small tractors and commercial mowers.
