Job Description: Visitor Services Associate - LTE

This position will greet visitors at a state park, and work from a contact station selling park admission stickers and trail passes, registering campers, and providing information about park amenities and local attractions in the area. This position will work daily with computers, cash registers, and credit card machines. This position may assist with maintenance duties including office and restroom cleaning, mowing, or painting.

55% Greet visitors collect and account for fees and disseminate information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use electronic cash registers, electronic credit card verifications equipment and computerized reservation and reporting systems.

25% Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability.

10% Distribute brochures, maps, and provide directions/routes of travel throughout the park; inform visitors of potential safety hazards.

10% Perform light maintenance duties. Mow grass. Pick up litter. Clean restrooms, campfire rings and picnic grills. Paint grills and picnic tables. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Applicant must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public.
- Training or experience in customer service, cash handling, use of computer systems and related software and credit card verifiers.
- Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision and be able to work holidays, nights, and weekends.

- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual
- Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc.
