Hourly Rate: Between $9.43 - $11.52 per hour depending on experience and training.

Duration: Job starts approximately April 15, 2018

Job Description: Laborer - LTE

This position is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of the parks, trails, and facilities. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a positive attitude, that is able to work independently, and function as part of a team. A large part of this position involves keeping the buildings and grounds presentable for park and trail visitors.

60% Clean and maintain day use areas and campgrounds. This includes daily building cleaning, mowing, litter pickup, and cleaning fire rings and grills in campgrounds, picnic areas, shelters, restrooms, and office.

20% Perform general grounds and trail maintenance including mowing, brushing, trimming, installing signs, and paint and repair picnic tables.

20% Perform general maintenance and minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. Answer questions and provide directions to the public. Other duties as assigned. Wear required uniform and be a positive representative of the Department.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge and skills in general and preventive maintenance duties including janitorial, grounds work, and painting.
- Training or experience in cleaning, vehicle operations including 4-wheel drive, manual transmissions, tractors, dump trucks, and mowers.
- Ability to use hand and power tools including chainsaws.
- Duties will be performed with coworkers and independently. Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work outside in difficult weather conditions.
- Due to equipment usage, applicants must have a valid operator's license; a minimum of two years licensed driving experience and must be at least 18 years of age.
- This position will require holiday, weekends, and some evening shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge, skills and experience of general maintenance operations
- Building/facility or repair maintenance experience
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual
- Ability to work a modified schedule; weekends, holidays, etc.
