Job Description: Program and Policy Analyst - LTE

This position will assist the Wildlife Public Land Specialist in the administration of over 500,000 acres of Wildlife lands and game species habitat management. This position works under the direction of the Public Land Specialist. This position collaborates with several internal DNR programs as well as federal and state agencies, constituent groups, conservation organizations, and the media on all aspects of the public lands program.

35% Assist with approval and monitoring of capital development budget projects for developing, maintaining, and improving conservation related infrastructure on public lands. Manage the database of projects within the Development Project System (DPS). Check projects for required elements and work with staff to complete. Assist with staff training in DPS system.

25% Assist with master planning, integrated property management meetings, invasive species management coordination and management, species plans and forest certification reporting for Wildlife program lands, including development and review of plans, solicitation of public input on policy and procedure revisions, and drafting amendments and variances.

20% Assist with coordination and tracking of several Pittman Robertson special projects including "Voice of the Customer" public land user survey, mobile hunter app, cooperator match documentation, promotion of accomplishments, federal compliance documentation.

20% Assist with program land acquisition, land sales, cooperator projects, and easements as needed to meet the program mission

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of wildlife and public land management principles and terminology
- Attention to detail with proven organizational skills
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite applications
- Experience that demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. in Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Management or closely related field
- Experience with mapping and analysis using ESRI ArcGIS software
- Experience with public land management activities
- Experience writing in different formats; public communication, meeting summaries, planning documents etc.
