Hourly Rate: Between $9.75 - $10.10 per hour depending on experience and training.

Duration: Job starts approximately March 19, 2018

Job Description: Wildlife Technician - LTE

Assist in pheasant production operations at the State Game Farm. Maintain health of breeder flock through good husbandry practices-cleaning, feeding, watering and clean bedding. Work in breeder pens and hatchery through collection of eggs, sanitation of hatchery equipment and counting chicks on hatch days.

60% Pheasant husbandry and flock health maintenance in the breeder area, including egg collection and handling, unit sanitation, and flock health monitoring.

25% Assist in hatchery with egg disinfection, traying and chick hatching.

15% Catching and evaluate pheasants for breeding stock and vaccinations and transfer to range fields.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- High School Degree or equivalent
- General knowledge of animal husbandry
- Ability to do physical labor in a variety of weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of biosecurity practices
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
