Hourly Rate: $13.000 per hour, plus $0.45 per hour for evenings after 6 p.m. and $0.60 per hour for Saturday and Sunday work.

Job Description: Parks and Recreation Specialist - LTE

This LTE position is anticipated to work from July-November. This position is responsible for a combination of outdoor maintenance/grounds keeping work in addition to providing customer service for property visitors/campers at the entrance station. Parks and Recreation Specialists often operate machinery such as UTV's, ATV's, chainsaws, snowmobiles, hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors and other motorized vehicles.

40% Maintenance of grounds and facilities to ensure they conform to established standards to include mow grass, pick up litter, clean public use areas and beaches, painting, maintaining restrooms and campsites, remove trees and brush, repair and maintain trail surfaces, operate vehicles and light equipment and perform repairs and maintenance to equipment and buildings.

40% Direct other team members and assist in the collection of fees and dissemination of information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use electronic cash registers, electronic credit card verification equipment and computerized reservation and reporting systems. Register campers; sell admission stickers to public. Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability. Manage the administration of admission sticker sales and other fee charges to efficiently maximize revenues.

15% Explain State Park rules, regulations and fees to visitors and help with special events. Manage the Park and its facilities to protect public health and safety.

5% Assist the Park Manager and/or Property Superintendent with monitoring the work and performance of other team members or volunteers and any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Ability to be productive working alone as well as working with a team.
- Excellent customer service skill required.
- Prior financial experience.
- Prior experience with rule enforcement.
- Prior experience leading and directing the work of others.
- Knowledge and skills in buildings and grounds maintenance.
- Must be at least 18 years old to operate vehicles and some equipment.
- Successful candidate must be able to perform public safety, visitor services, and maintenance duties in a fast pace work environment while exercising sound judgment and providing excellent customer service.
