Job Description: Facilities Repair Worker - LTE

This position will perform a combination of general maintenance and repair work to various building types and equipment; including but not limited to park buildings, electrical, plumbing, power tools and vehicles.

70% Perform facility maintenance improvement projects. Perform minor repairs to water and electrical systems. Operate and maintain equipment. Assist with training and directing less experienced maintenance staff.

30% Mow grass, pick up litter, clean public use areas. Haul garbage. Paint buildings, grills and picnic tables. Maintain restrooms, campfire rings and picnic grills. Remove trees and brush. Fill and grade parks road, patch blacktop and maintain culverts and shoulders.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge and skills in general and preventative maintenance duties including janitorial, grounds work, and painting.
- Previous park and grounds maintenance and custodial experience required.
- Experience using hand and power tools including chain saws.
- Exhibit effective written and oral communication skills.
- Heavy lifting is required.
- Must be at least 18 years old to operate vehicles and some equipment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Training or experience in vehicle operations including 4-wheel drive trucks, tractors, dump trucks.
- Must be a self-starter who is punctual and can work independently as well as with co-workers.
- Successful candidates will possess a background and work-related experience in building and grounds maintenance, and have leadership experience. Specific knowledge of this state park or the Wisconsin State Park System will be highly regarded.
