Job Description: Facilities Repair Worker

The Northern Highland - American Legion State Forest is hiring seasonal staff to work on the state forest and the Willow Flowage. These positions work on a variety of projects including building and facilities maintenance, campground projects, and a variety of other projects that keep the forest operational throughout the year.

30% Building maintenance and repair including: repair/replacement of doors, windows, screens, fascia, soffit, trim, and roofing to include shingles and steel roofing with skylights and vents. Repair or replace toilet partitions and accessories including installation of concrete anchors. Basic plumbing and electrical repairs.

35% Operate equipment to grade parking lots and campsites, repair eroded areas, and various other projects.

10% Maintain and repair various small engine and heavy equipment and trailers.

10% Construct forms and pour concrete for sidewalk repairs and well/pump aprons.

5% Repair or construct heavy duty gates, requires welding.

10% Install and maintain signage.

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
- Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to operate a variety of light and heavy landscaping equipment including skid steer, tractor, chain saws, and line striper
- Must be punctual and be able to work independently when assigned.
- Applicant must have a valid driver's license and meet requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and to follow a work plan with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Able to communicate effectively with others
- Be team oriented and assist other programs as needed.
