Lower Green Bay & Fox River Cleanup

Objective

The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance (FWWA) will organize and hold a River Cleanup for the Lower Green Bay and Fox River Area of Concern on April 26th, 2014. Cleaning up litter and debris is an obvious reason for holding a river clean-up and a definite benefit to our local waters; however the secondary benefit is much larger. The goal of the FWWA River Cleanup is to get people out by the waters that they currently turn away from. Bringing people together by the water will create a sense of community and pride around our waters.

Outcome

The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance (FWWA) will organize and hold a River Cleanup for the Lower Green Bay and Fox River AOC. The Cleanup will take place in conjunction with Earth Day celebrations on April 26th, 2014. Final Report will be due May 31, 2014 and include: Number of volunteers, number of bags of trash removed, photos from actual event, copies of press releases, copies of mailings, posters, timeline of project planning, recap of event, save the date for the following year’s clean-up, number of participants signed up to receive FWWA updates and water-friendly tips.
