St. Croix County proposes to conduct an assessment of its shoreline along the St. Croix River (Lake St. Croix) to identify baseline conditions and facilitate planning for implementation of EPA-approved TMDLs while preparing for impacts associated with construction of a new Stillwater bridge crossing. Major project elements to include: 1) Inventory of all public access to the waterway in St. Croix County, 2) Create dataset of shoreline information including land uses, bank conditions, and shoreline features, 3) Document shoreline conditions with photos and video while mapping with GIS technology, and 4) Involve stakeholders in project implementation, sharing of project results, and development of plans to enhance water quality, habitat, and recreational opportunties along Lake St. Croix.
