Clean Boats, Clean Waters Workshop in Oxford 5/30/2009


This session is mainly for new volunteers, although anyone can attend,even if they’ve been through training previously. The morning will be“classroom” information on water quality monitoring and aquaticinvasive plants. After lunch, there will be sessions on aquaticinvasive animals and Clean Boats, Clean Waters. The day will wind upwith “on-lake” chances to use the equipment and monitor for aquaticinvasive species. Lunch and breaks will be provided. The Clean Boats,Clean Waters (CBCW) volunteer watercraft inspection program provides anopportunity to learn how and why educational awareness is so importantin preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS). Thisworkshop will provide you with an overview of AIS, instructions on howto organize an effective volunteer watercraft inspection program, andhands-on training for watercraft inspections and AIS identification.For more information on the CBCW program: This workshop runs from 9am to5pm at Parker Lake Lodge in Oxford.
