Flambeau Mine, intermittent stream near Ladysmith WET

Purpose

Conduct Acute and Chronic Toxicity Tests on stormwater and ambient water quality related to the Flambeau Mine on an intermittent stream near Ladysmith. Two Acute & Chronictests. Biologists is interested in testing water in an intermittent stream that drains the former Flambeau mine near Ladysmith. Sampling has shown copper concentrations consistently exceeding ATC. Samples would be collected during runoff events at the two sites -- the impacted stream and a reference stream. Would like to test at least one date; results might indicate if further testing is warranted. This work would be conducted during summer 2011.
