TOWN OF NEWBOLD: Two Sisters Lake Management Planning Project, Phase 1

Purpose

The Town of Newbold is sponsoring a phased large scale lake planning grant project to study Two Sisters Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Two Sisters Lake. Grant applications for Phases 3 and 4 of the LMP will be submitted for funding consideration in August 2011. Phase 1 project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Water quality sampling and analysis; 3) Curly-leaf pondweed survey; 4) Aquatic plant community and substrate mapping; 5) AIS education and prevention \2013 establish rapid response team and AIS monitoring; 6) Data entry of AIS monitoring into SWIMS. Project deliverables include: 1) News release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Water chemistry data; 3) Aquatic plant community and substrate maps; 4) Entered AIS monitoring data into SWIMS. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of news release(s), newsletter article, data from water quality sampling and AIS monitoring, all maps from project, and all GIS data.
