Large Scale Lake Planning
Friends of Lower Nine Lake is sponsoring phased lake planning project to study Lower Nine Mile Lake, in Vilas County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Lower Nine Mile Lake. Phases 1 and 2 are being funded in the August 2010 grant cycle and Phase 3 will be submitted for funding consideration in February 2011.
Phase 2 project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 kick-off and wrap-up meeting; 2) Point-intercept (PI) aquatic plant survey, community mapping and analysis; 3) Curly-leaf pondweed survey; 4) Professional Dreissena monitoring.
Project deliverables include: 1) PI data; 2) Aquatic plant community maps; 3) Two sets of aquatic plant vouchers.
WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of PI data, a set of aquatic plant vouchers, all maps from project, and all GIS data.
