FRIENDS OF THE PLATTE RIVER, INC: Japanese Hops Monitoring & Control- Platte/Little Platte

Purpose

The Friends of the Platte River proposes to identify the extent of and methods of control of the Japanese Hops infestation in the Platte and Little Platte River watersheds in Grant County, Wisconsin. This will be accomplished via a full-scale survey of the population in these watersheds; Intensive control methods will be tested to determine strengths and weaknesses of various methods, and educating the public. A comprehensive plan will be produced containing a map of locations and extents of this plant, results of researched and tested methods of control, and a plan for control in these watershed. The project will be shared with DNR, local media and landowners.
