WHITE ASH LAKE P & R DISTRICT: Aquatic Plant Management Plan & Education Program, White Ash Lakes Polk Co.


White Ash Lakes P & R District is sponsoring project to complete an aquatic plant management plan for White Ash and North White Ash Lakes. The final deliverable will be a single aquatic plant management plan that includes methodologies, results, and management alternatives discussion with an implementation plan. The plan will also integrate and compare previous monitoring and planning results since 1980. The specific project tasks include: 1) Spring Curlyleaf pondweed surveys and mapping on both lakes and full summer point-intercept survey on White Ash Lake; 2) Top/bottom paleoecological core and report; 3) Sociological survey of riparians and local community; 4) Lake user education, including implementation of Clean Boats Clean Waters, AIS monitoring, a lake fair, and new boat landing signage. Special Conditions: 1) WDNR\2019s Aquatic Plant Management in Wisconsin guidance should be followed for point-intercept survey monitoring and aquatic plant management plan development; 2) Draft public surveys methods must be reviewed and approved by the Department before being initiated. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Coordinator.
