Proposed SER Citizen Based Stream Monitoring Support

Purpose
Support expansion of Citizen Based Stream Monitoring in the Milwaukee River Basin.
Objective
Milwaukee Riverkeeper (formerly Friends of Milwaukee's Rivers) will be adding 15-20 level I monitors and 5 level II monitors if they can acquire the needed funding support forequipment. SER is interested in using the information collected by citizen monitors to assess water quality improvement or decline in streams and rivers. The expansion of the program will allow a breoader picture of these trends to be established, and assist in the development and deployment of water management strategies on a community, county and regional saale.
Outcome
Project will expand monitoring to additional sites in the Menomonee River watershed. This work will add up to 20 level I and 5 level II monitors.
