Purpose

Friends of the Upper Sugar River Watershed will build partnerships and provide AIS education, prevention and control services in the 4-county area (Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette and Western Dane) and act as the AIS rapid response liaison with DNR. Project final deliverables include: New AIS specimens vouchered according to DNR protocol; all data collected entered into DNR\2019s SWIMs database; final report documenting achievement of each activity, dates, meeting minutes and number of attendees from training events, # signs posted, documentation of location where boot cleaning stations installed. Specific project activities include: Train volunteers on Project Red, Host Weed ID Workshop, and take part in statewide AIS campaigns like CBCW, etc; provide training to local government professionals and commercial businesses on topics like bmps for mowing and road construction, and native versus exotic plants; implement water garden AIS awareness campaign; monitor, voucher and report AIS and implement control especially in the West Fork Kickapoo river corridor; install signs and boot brush stations This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. If consultant is to provide a final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lakes Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the department in electronic format to the regional Lakes Coordinator along with, or prior to, submission of grantee\2019s final payment request.
