MARATHON COUNTY: RES Bldg Comm Capacity: Water Resources Protection


Purpose: Marathon County is sponsoring a project to work with local groups to promote community engagement, capacity building, and organizational development; Implement public shoreland demonstration sites on Lake Wausau, and provide a wetland restoration program for land in agricultural use in the Big Eau Pleine Watershed; and provide county-wide audience targeted water resource related information and education. Project activities include: Provide support to local lake and watershed groups, develop capacity and strategic plans, shoreland demo restorations, fund shoreland technician, develop outreach materials and forums, develop a wetland restoration cost-share program, develop and install educational signs, assist shoreland property owners, create lessons plans. Project deliverables: All plans and reports associated with activities listed, all outreach materials developed, and documentation of all restorations activities. Special conditions: WDNR will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of all data and maps from the project. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the WDNR. The grantee should provide a draft of the plan to DNR water quality staff for comment on plan adequacy, prior to submission of the grantee\2019s final payment request.
