SILVER LAKE ASSOCIATION: Aquatic Invasive Species Early Detection & Response

Purpose

Silver Lake Association is sponsoring a 3-yr project to conduct professional AIS monitoring. Project deliverable is an annual report documenting AIS monitoring data and results. Specific project activities include: Professional AIS monitoring. Special Conditions: 1) Sponsor shall contact DNR immediately if a new AIS is found.; 2) All monitoring data shall be entered into SWIMS database. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lakes Biologist.

An aquatic invasive species (AIS) survey was conducted on Silver Lake, Barron County WI in June and August, 2018 to evaluate the presence of aquatic invasive species present in Silver Lake. The survey included a meander survey in June and August, as well has installing sampling plates and using plankton tows for zebra mussel monitoring.
