CITY OF REEDSBURG: Baraboo River Corridor Plan: Phase 2

Purpose

Project Summary: Inventory the Baraboo River and document habitat, erosion and bank vegetation. Identify environmental, recreational, educational, water quality and habitat improvements through stakeholder focus groups. Confirm goals and objectives for river, and develop conceptual plans for recreational improvements, and water quality and habitat improvements. Make recommendations for shoreline restoration, fish habitat, and native vegetation plantings that will reduce runoff to the Baraboo River. Corridor project includes the City of Reedsburg, Sauk County, Villages of Rock Springs and La Valle. Public workshops and meetings with local decision makers,as well as press releases and community websites, to share the findings for the project. Deliverables: River corridor inventory and analysis, stakeholder needs assessment and recommendations to improve fish habitat, river access, and water quality. Conceptual plans to include prioritizing actions and costs.
