Purpose
Through the CBCW program, citizens and staff are trained to be watercraft inspectors - they educate boaters and anglers about aquatic invasive species (AIS) at local boat launches. Inspectors show boaters how and where AIS are most likely to hitch a ride on their watercraft and be transferred to other water bodies. They also perform boat/trailer checks for AIS, distribute informational brochures, and collect and report valuable data on boater behaviors and awareness. All ages are welcome to participate.
