OZAUKEE COUNTY: Water Quality Monitoring on Mole and Ulao Creeks 2016

Purpose

Ozaukee County Planning and Parks Department will, over 18 months, conduct water quality monitoring at 11 locations as described in their application on Mole and Ulao Creeks in Ozaukee County, and deploy three continuous water quality monitoring units along these two waterbodies. This data will be analyzed after collection, along with other information gathered by Ozaukee County and other organizations over the last 10 years, by Ozaukee County staff for planning of future restoration and water quality improvement activities. Final analysis will be shared, either in written form or electronically, with Southeastern Wisconsin Watershed Trust, SEWRPC, Ulao Creek Partnership, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, and WDNR. Project final deliverables include: 1.) Water quality data consisting of six parameters (TP, OrthoP, TSS, Chlorides, Fecal coliform, e. coli) from six sampling events at 11 locations on Mole and Ulao Creeks. Three of these sampling events will have occured during low-flow conditions and three sampling events will have occurred during high-flow conditions. 2.) Diurnal long-term water quality data consisting of water temperature, DO, depth, pH, and Specific Conductance from multiple locations and multiple deployments in the two waterbodies. 3.) Upload of all data collected into the WDNR SWIMS database. 4.) A written paper and electronic report summarizing all related monitoring activities under this grant, including locations, duration, protocols, parameters monitored, and data collected. The report will be provided to SWWT, UCP, Riverkeeper, SEWRPC, and WDNR. 5.) A separate or associated written or electronic report summarizing and giving an analysis of data collected in the last 10 years on these waterbodies by Ozaukee County, Riverkeeper, and other organizations. The report will be provided to SWWT, UCP, Riverkeeper, SEWRPC, and WDNR.
