Small Scale Lake Planning
The purpose of this project is to begin the process of developing a Comprehensive Lake Management Plan to address water quality in Lake Redstone. While not exactly a TMDL, a Comprehensive Lake Management Plan addresses as many of the sources of lake degradation as possible including nutrient loading (natural and human derived sources), non-native invasive species, land use near the lake and within the larger watershed, aquatic plants and algae, and lake use.
The Lake Redstone P&R District is sponsoring a project to locate and compile all existing lake and watershed data and reports to facilitate future development of a Comprehensive Lake Management Plan.
Project final deliverables include: a strategic planning document that contains a list of data and reports collected, recommendations for future sampling, and a list of known and potential watershed projects.
Specific project activities include: locating and organizing all available water quality and watershed data for Lake Redstone, and getting these materials assembled to prepare for a comprehensive management plan.
