Large Scale Lake Planning
Dane County Land and Water Resources is sponsoring a project to develop a concept and rehabilitation plan to restore the form and function of the Cherokee Lake system.
Project final deliverables include: a final rehabilitation plan include engineering specifications, phasing recommendations, costs and environmental impact analysis, and funding sources. The plan will be presented to the public.
Specific project activities include: Collecting data on Cherokee Lake such as bathymetric, shoreline condition, vegetation, structures, and sediment cores; perform hydrodynamic modeling and sediment budget, and summarize that analysis in a report.
