Fish Consumption

Purpose
Fish collection and contaminant analyses post-remediation to confirm that PCB concentrations are reduced
Objective
Normally, the Sheboygan River would be sampled again after 5 years to confirm or revise existing fish consumption advice. However, substantial remediation occurred in the Sheboygan River in 2012 and as such the WDNR expects to complete another routine fish contaminant survey one year prior to normal 5 year rotation (i.e. 2015). Costs for this part of the verification monitoring will be covered by existing Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources programmatic funds.
Outcome
Inform BUI: Fish and Wildlife Consumption Advisory
Study Design
Follow program methodology for Sheboygan River fish consumption program
