Verification of success of habitat restorations
An assessment is needed to quantify the following. • Acres of suitable migratory bird stopover habitat restored or improved. • Miles of warmwater fish community habitat restored or improved. • Acres and condition of riparian corridor and wetland restored and enhanced. • Acres and condition of riparian emergent wetland improved, enhanced or restored. • Invasive species in project areas are inventoried and mapped. • Recommendations for continued maintenance, repair, or enhancement are determined.
Monitoring and evaluation is necessary to confirm that these projects are functioning as expected.
