Burnett County is sponsoring a multi-year AIS Prevention & Education Project to continue their countywide program. The Project includes: aquatic plant and AIS monitoring, including completion of GLRI/early detection monitoring; management planning; CLMN, CBCW and invasive identification and management/control trainings; a watercraft inspection program; partnership with local enforcement to enforce invasives-related ordinances; purple loosestrife and Japanese knotweed control and management plans; and boat landing monitoring surveys. The Project also includes substantial match and partnerships with local, tribal, and federal groups. Deliverables include: entered data, monitoring results and maps, plans for associated activities (e.g. APM, Japanese and Giant Knotweed, County Strategic Plan), and a summary of all education and outreach activities with example products like presentations and publications. The specific objectives, metrics, and deliverables for the listed activities are included in the application and supporting materials, and this scope is not intended to replace or supersede those documents.
