Impaired Water - Big Stone Lake (Big Stone Lake (Three Lakes Chain))
Oneida County, Wisconsin
UW44
1612200
606.78
Water is impaired due to one or more pollutants and associated quality impacts.
Notes
Big Stone Lake was originally included on the 303(d) list in 1998 due to mercury concentrations in fish tissue. This water was assessed for the 2012 listing cycle and the original listing due to mercury levels in fish tissue was confirmed.

Big Stone Lake was evaluated for phosphorus and algae every two years between 2014 and 2020. Phosphorus levels were found to be too high, however algae blooms do not appear to be an issue.
