0.00 - 10.38
10.38
Water is impaired due to one or more pollutants and associated quality impacts.
Notes
Kiefer Creek is on the 303(d) list for ammonia, total phosphorus, and total suspended solids. This water is part of the Rock River TMDL. In 2012, total phosphorus sample data exceed 2012 WisCALM listing criteria for the fish and aquatic life use.

This water was assessed during the 2014 listing cycle; total phosphorus sample data overwhelmingly exceed 2014 WisCALM listing thresholds for the Fish and Aquatic Life use, however, no biological data (i.e. no macroinvertebrate or fish Index of Biotic Integrity (IBI) scores) were available to assess biological impairment).

This water was assessed during the 2016 listing cycle; total phosphorus sample data overwhelmingly exceed 2016 WisCALM listing thresholds for the Fish and Aquatic Life use, however, no biological data (i.e. no macroinvertebrate or fish Index of Biotic Integrity (IBI) scores) were available to assess biological impairment.

This water was assessed during the 2018 listing cycle; new total phosphorus sample data overwhelmingly exceed 2018 WisCALM listing thresholds for the Fish and Aquatic Life use, however, no biological data (i.e. no macroinvertebrate or fish Index of Biotic Integrity (IBI) scores) were available to assess biological impairment.

Impaired Water Notes
Weeklong hydrolab deployments were done seasonally from June 2004 - November 2005 between Hwy 49 and Hwy 67 to monitor dissolved oxygen. Not enough summer data has been collected so Horicon staff will continue hydrolab deployments in the summer of 2006.

Impaired Water Notes
Fixed period baseflow and runoff event samples collected at HWY 67 and analyzed for Dissolved P, TP, N, and Kjeldahl N from June 2004 through November 2005. Four samples were collected at various crossings upstream of HWY 67 during baseflow conditions in 2005 and were also analyzed for nutrients. Elevated nutrient levels are found at the downstream crossings nearest to the point sources ( HH & Center Rd.) compared to samples collected above the point sources and samples collected at sites further downstream.
