The Furbearer Advisory Committee is a diverse group representing government agencies, non-governmental organizations, tribal interests and conservation groups.

COMMITTEE MEETING INFORMATION

The Furbearer Advisory Committee presents, reviews and deliberates furbearer information and offers relevant management and research recommendations to the Wildlife Leadership Team. The objectives of the committee are:

  • Develop new furbearer trapping and hunting rule proposals.
  • Consider the results of WCC Spring Hearing advisory questions (focused on furbearers).
  • Review annual furbearer survey results.
  • Review current furbearer research.
  • Develop harvest recommendations for bobcats, fishers and river otters.
  • Advance recommendations for species management plans.
  • Consider public input on furbearer management and research.
  • Provide a platform for agency and partner collaboration.
