Yellowsone Lake State ParkTrail descriptions

In addition to the trails at the state park, Yellowstone Wildlife Area has about 30 miles of horse trails.

Hiking Snowmobiling Blue Ridge trail (3.5 miles)

This 3.5-mile hiking trail is also open to snowmobiling. The Blue Ridge trail travels through much of the park with access to the trail at the park office, the concession building and by connections with several other trails.

Hiking Biking Cross-country skiing Oak Grove trail (2.1 miles)

This popular hiking and ski trail begins near the boat landing. The trail offers rolling terrain with some steep hills. The western side of the loop is open to off-road bikes.

Hiking Cross-country skiing Oak Ridges trail (1.3 miles)

This hiking and ski trail has rolling terrain through oak and hickory woodlands.

Hiking Cross-country skiing Prairie loop trail (0.8 miles)

This hiking and ski trail is on rolling terrain through woodlands and prairie.

Hiking Biking Savannah loop trail (0.6 miles)

This hiking and mountain biking trail has some steep hills through oak woodland terrain.

Hiking Shortcut trail (0.3 miles)

This short trail connects the Windy Ridge and Oak Grove trails.

Hiking Timber trail (0.8 miles)

This hiking trail is the connecting trail from the campground to the boat landing and beach area.

Hiking Wildlife loop trail (1.0 miles)

This loop trail goes past the lakeshore and wetlands on the west side of the property near the park office.

Hiking Biking Windy Ridge trail (1.7 miles)

This hiking and mountain biking trail has rolling terrain with some steep hills. Features include ridgetop views, oak woodlands and prairies.
