Capital Springs State Recreation Area Camping and reservations

The DNR and Dane County cooperatively operate and manage Capital Springs. Dane County's Lake Farm Park, adjacent to Capital Springs, offers camping.

Don't move firewood!Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, Wisconsin has restrictions for moving firewood.


Firewood is for sale from the campground host.


The campground at Lake Farm Park has 54 fully-accessible campsites. Most of them are suitable for vehicle camping and others are tent sites. Thirty-nine sites have electrical hookups.

The campground has showers, flush toilets and a dumping station. The campground is next to the Lussier Family Heritage Center [exit DNR] and the Capital City State Trail and just minutes away from downtown Madison.
