Wyalusing State Park Current conditions

The Mississippi River is at normal water level. The boat ramp is open, including dock and fishing pier.

The Old Immigrant Trail is closed as it has been flooded all summer due to its close proximity to the river backwaters. All other trails are in good condition.

Some birds that are regularly spotted by our avid birdwatchers are the Blackburnian warbler, cerulean warbler, Louisiana waterthrush, scarlet tanager and pileated woodpecker.

Prairie wildflowers are in full bloom throughout the park including gayfeather, white indigo, hepatica, shooting star, lupine, prairie phlox and black-eyed Susans. Blackberries are now ripe. Lots of skunks and racoons and also beautiful white-tailed deer have been seen.

See the DNR Events Calendar for a list of events at Wyalusing and other state parks.

Starsplitters [exit DNR] programs take place at the Lawrence Huser Astronomy Center in the park.

The concession stand is open for the season.
