Trails and roads

Seasonal road closures are in place. Reference the Winter Map [PDF] for roads kept plowed/open in winter.

Cross-country ski trails include the green, blue, black and red loop trails. Ski trail conditions are posted on the Cross-country ski trail conditions page.

Hiking is prohibited on snow covered and groomed ski trails.  Hiking and snowshoeing trails include a portion of the Ice Age Trail, the Nature Trail, and Hiking/Snowshoe loop near the picnic area.

Don't move firewood!

Don't move firewood!Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, Wisconsin has restrictions for moving firewood.

Park water systems are shut down for the season. Closures include flush toilets and showers, the dump station, and the fish cleaning station.

Drinking water is available year-round next to the campground shelter.

The North Daisy Field Campground and Group Camp are closed for the season. A limited number of sites in the South Daisy Field Campground are open for winter camping, however the campground may be temporarily closed during logging. Please call ahead for more information. Sites are first-come, first-served in the winter. 


The park does not monitor ice conditions. Always use caution when venturing out onto the ice.  Ice shanties may not be left on state park property overnight. 

The Friends of Potawatomi State Park are fundraising to support replacement of the accessible fishing pier in the picnic area. Visit the Friends fundraising page [exit DNR] for more information.

The Park Store is closed for the season.

More information

The park office is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the week, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.  The office may be closed without notice.

A vehicle admission sticker is required year-round. If the office is closed, please self-register for vehicle admission stickers and campsites on the porch outside the office building.
