Merrick State Park Current conditions

All trails are open and in good hiking condition.

The Island campground is closed.  The South Campground has re-opened, but most of the campsites are still closed due to high water, and wet/muddy conditions.  Closed campsites are marked with yellow “Site Closed” tags on the campsite posts. The North Campground is still open, campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The shower building, sanitary dump station, and drinking fountains are closed for the season.

See the DNR Events Calendar for a list of events at Merrick and other state parks.

Fall colors are past peak.  Most of the trees in the park have lost their leaves.  Large flocks of pelicans have been seen flying overhead.

The boat dock is still in, but you will need to get your feet wet in order to launch.

Canoe and kayak rentals

Canoe and kayak rentals are done for the season.
