Lake Wissota State Park Current conditions

Park trails are in good condition.

We often have availability during the week but we are regularly fill up on weekends so it is a good idea to make a reservation if you plan on staying a Friday or Saturday evening.

We have been experiencing cooler mornings - a reminder that fall is just around the corner. Some late season flowers are still in bloom but other plants are showing signs of fall color. Most berries are done for the year but there are wild plumb trees in the park that are getting ripe.

Many people look forward to September because it will be the start of several hunting seasons. Just a reminder that hunting is not allowed in the park until November 15. There are other public lands available for early season hunting nearby.

September can also be a good month for fishing on Lake Wissota. Anglers have been catching a variety of species, but catfish continue to be the most consistent.

Please use the self-registration station to register for vehicle admission stickers when staff members are not present.
