The state park is open for hunting starting Nov. 15. Areas of the state park will be open from Nov. 15–Dec. 15 for open season gun hunting and from Nov. 15–Jan. 6, 2019 for archery hunting. There are two areas of the park that are not open for hunting at any time. Please down load the state park hunting map [PDF] or stop at the park office for more information.

The 16 miles of hiking trail are open and ready for your next adventure. . There is snow on the ground and wildlife tracks are everywhere!  Hike a trail and see what tracks you can find.  Looking for a place to hike or walk your dog that is not open to hunting?  The Otter Trail and the campground loop roads are great places to hike and are completely inside the wildlife refuge areas.

Lakes and boat landings

Winter is here. The inland lakes are mostly frozen and the boat landing facilities on Caldron Falls are now iced in.

The park has two inland lakes, Woods and Huber, and several miles of frontage on Caldron Falls Flowage. The South Bay Landing (#13) on Caldron Falls has two concrete launches, a boarding dock, fishing pier, picnic area and vault toilet. All facilities at South Bay are accessible.

Don't move firewood!

Don't move firewood!Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, Wisconsin has restrictions for moving firewood.

The campground is closed for the winter season.  We will be open for walk-in campers starting the end of April.

The campground has 100 sites that are all sized for a tent, camper or RV. Sixteen sites have electricity. There are vault toilets and water fountains throughout the campground and a centrally located shower/flush toilet building. The sanitary dump and fill station is located on the road into the campground.

The boat access campsites on Caldron Falls Flowage are open year-round. Each site has a place to tie up your boat, canoe/kayak rack, tent pad, fire ring, picnic table, bench, primitive latrine and a bear-proof box to store your food.

The Woods Lake day-use area is open and has picnic tables and benches available to enjoy a peaceful lunch or to simply enjoy the seasonal changes around the lake. The picnic area has a 150-foot sand beach, a sunning area and a vault toilet with changing rooms. The Woods Lake enclosed shelter is available for rental, or when not rented, open for park visitors and used as a warming house in the winter months.
